Heirloom Cashmere Warrandyte

Heirloom Cashmere Australia is a boutique family business founded in 2013. We are located in beautiful riverside Warrandyte in Melbourne, Australia.

WHAT IS CASHMERE?

Cashmere is the natural fibre collected from the underbelly of Capra Hircus goats found in the Himalayan and Mongolian regions. Such altitude and climate evolved the animals with superior heat insulation abilities. In spring after a harsh winter, goat herders harvest the fleece by gently combing (not shearing) the animals to preserve the pristine integrity of cashmere.

Cashmere is the finest, softest and warmest fibre found in nature.

WHY CASHMERE?

Cashmere is a natural and renewable resource. With a genuine piece of cashmere, you feel the natural warmth as soon as you put on. It is lightweight and yet provides incredible heat insulation that can be used all year round. Cashmere is breathable, naturally hypoallergenic and moisture wicking.

We inspire to bring you the superior quality and comfort of cashmere, when care for, will be cherished for a lifetime. Cashmere is classic and will stand the test of time.

WHO MADE THEM?

All our cashmere products are designed in Melbourne and made by family-based small scale makers in Kathmandu (Nepal) and Inner Mongolia (China). These regions complement each other with the highest quality cashmere the world has to offer. Each piece is spun and woven skilfully in a painstakingly long process and each step involves heavy hand processes that take years to master. We do not use harsh bleach and only certified metal and azo-free dyes so it is gentle to your baby's skin and kind to the environment.

We design, collaborate with these long-trusted family makers directly and by keeping our overheads low and distribution model lean, we pass on the incredible value and beautiful quality to you.

We hope you and your little one love our cashmere, and continue to pass on to the next child and the next generation - an heirloom as it is meant to be.
